KC Streetcar Constructors to Move Rail for Track Construction

Crews will work in the early morning hours of Friday, February 23 to minimize impacts to the traveling public.

(Kansas City, MO) - KC Streetcar Constructors will pull at least 1,000 feet of rail from the rail staging area near 49th Street and Brookside Boulevard. The rail will be pulled into the existing traffic control on the east side of Main Street near 44th Street.

WHO: KC Streetcar Constructors in conjunction with the Kansas City, Missouri Police Department.

WHEN: For the safety of all and to limit disruptions to the traveling public on Main Street, this work is scheduled to begin at 4:30 a.m. on Friday, February 23 and will be complete by 7:00 a.m.

WHERE: KC Streetcar Constructors will pull the rail from the rail storage area north on Main Street into the existing traffic control setup on the east side of Main Street near 44th Street.

Cross-traffic at the Main Street intersections of 51st Street, 49th Street, Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard, Emanuel Cleaver II Boulevard, 46th Street, 45th Street, 44th Street and 43rd Street will be temporarily halted until the rail, equipment and personnel have cleared the intersection. Officers with the Kansas City, Missouri Police Department will assist with traffic control during this process to facilitate a safe and efficient operation.
