🚧 Traffic Changes Ahead: Emanuel Cleaver II Boulevard 🚧

Beginning Wednesday, April 10, 2024, KC Streetcar Constructors will be working on Emanuel Cleaver II Boulevard at Main Street which will require a temporary closure of Emanuel Cleaver II Boulevard east of Main Street. This work is anticipated to take four weeks to complete, weather and unforeseen circumstances permitting.

Traffic control and detour signage will direct traffic around the work zone. The traveling public can use Oak Street and Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard to detour around the closure. Businesses will remain open during construction and local traffic only will be allowed between Oak Street and the closure at Emanuel Cleaver II Boulevard.

The east and north crosswalks at the intersection will be closed during this work. Pedestrians can use the mid-block signalized crosswalk just north of 46th Street to cross to the west side of Main Street. From there, pedestrians can use the west and south side crosswalks to navigate through the Emanuel Cleaver II Boulevard and Main Street intersection.

Below are detour maps for both vehicles and pedestrians during this work.
