KC Streetcar Constructors to Work Overnight on 31st Street.

Crews will work overnight on 31st Street between Main Street and Grand Avenue to minimize traffic impacts.

(Kansas City, MO) - Starting Wednesday, April 3, Capital Electric, under the direction of KC Streetcar Constructors, will work overnight on a portion of 31st Street to perform underground electrical work. Construction will start as early as 8 p.m. and be complete by 5 a.m. 31st Street will remain open during this work with reduced lanes for eastbound and westbound traffic.

WHO: Capital Electric, under the direction of KC Streetcar Constructors.

WHEN: Work will take place nightly from 8 p.m. - 5 a.m. starting Wednesday, April 3 and is anticipated to be completed within two weeks, weather and unforeseen circumstances permitting.

WHERE: Overnight work will take place on 31st Street between Main Street and Grand Avenue. All other work for the KC Streetcar Main Street Extension will continue to take place during normal working hours.

WHAT: Crews will first pothole to be sure the area is clear of utilities then install electrical conduits and wires by directional boring. This is a technique performed to avoid digging trenches and disrupting the surface.
