KC Streetcar Constructors to Move Rail for Track Construction

Crews will work in the early morning hours of Tuesday, April 30, to minimize impacts to the traveling public.

(Kansas City, MO) - KC Streetcar Constructors will set the switch for the Pershing Crossover near the intersection of Pershing Road and Main Street. A crane will move the switch from the mobility lane into the existing road closure on the east side of Main Street near Pershing Road.

The switches needed for the Pershing Crossover delivered on Saturday, February 25.

WHO: KC Streetcar Constructors in conjunction with the Kansas City, Missouri Police Department.

WHEN: For the safety of all and to limit disruptions to the traveling public on Main Street, this work is scheduled to begin at 1 a.m. Tuesday, April 30, and will be complete by 7 a.m.

WHERE: The switch is currently staged in the mobility lane on the west side of Main Street just south of the Pershing Road intersection. KC Streetcar Constructors will move the track from the mobility lane onto the existing closure at Pershing Road, east of the Main Street intersection.

Cross-traffic at the Main Street intersection of Pershing Road and Main Street may be temporarily halted at the intersection until the rail, equipment and personnel have cleared the intersection. Officers with the Kansas City, Missouri Police Department will assist with traffic control during this process to facilitate a safe and efficient operation.
