KC Streetcar Constructors to Move Rail for Track Construction

Crews will work in the early morning hours of Tuesday, April 9, to minimize impacts to the traveling public.

(Kansas City, MO) - KC Streetcar Constructors will pull 12 strings of rail from the rail staging area near 49th Street and Brookside Boulevard. The rail will be pulled into the existing traffic control on the east side of Brookside Boulevard between Emanuel Cleaver II Boulevard and Ward Parkway.

WHO: KC Streetcar Constructors, in conjunction with the Kansas City, Missouri Police Department.

KC Streetcar Constructors moved rail to the 27th Street and Main Street area the morning of June 30, 2022.

WHEN: For the safety of all and to limit disruptions to the traveling public on Brookside Boulevard, this work is scheduled to begin at 4:30 a.m. on Tuesday, April 9 and will be complete by 7:00 a.m.

WHERE: KC Streetcar Constructors will pull the rail from the rail storage area north on Brookside Boulevard into the existing traffic control setup near Emanuel Cleaver II Boulevard.

Cross-traffic at the Brookside Boulevard intersections of 51st Street, 49th Street, Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and Emanuel Cleaver II Boulevard will be temporarily halted until the rail, equipment and personnel have cleared the intersection. Officers with the Kansas City, Missouri Police Department will assist with traffic control during this process to facilitate a safe and efficient operation.
