KC Streetcar Constructors to move rail to KC Streetcar Vehicle Maintenance Facility

Crews will work in the early morning hours to minimize impacts to the traveling public.

(Kansas City, MO) - KC Streetcar Constructors will move the remaining rail from its temporary storage location near the Main Street and 27th Street intersection to the KC Streetcar Vehicle Maintenance Facility.

WHO: KC Streetcar Constructors, in conjunction with the Kansas City Police Department.

WHEN: For the safety of all and to limit disruptions to the traveling public, this work is scheduled to begin at 1 a.m. on Tuesday, May 20, and will be completed by 7 a.m.

WHERE: KC Streetcar Constructors will use a forklift and a bucket truck to transfer the rail onto a semi-truck. Once the rail is loaded onto the semi-truck, the truck will haul the rail to the KC Streetcar Vehicle Maintenance Facility.

Cross traffic at the Main Street intersections of 27th Street, Memorial Drive, and Grand Boulevard may be temporarily halted until the rail, equipment and personnel have cleared the intersection. Officers with the Kansas City Police Department will assist with traffic control during this process to facilitate a safe and efficient operation.
